The Football Fund’s Management Team’s strategy is to invest the Funds capital in line with a pre-agreed business plan which indicates additional funding will accelerate the company's agreed exit strategy.
The Fund looks to exit its investments within 2 - 5 years dependent on the type of business and the timing at which peak percentage profitability can be achieved. The Football Fund team drives the exit strategy by employing a hands-on approach utilizing all of their various skill sets and connections to complement those that exist within the companies in which they invest.
The Football Fund’s Investment Committee has strict guidelines in terms of what they are looking for in new investee companies, however a degree of flexibility is applied based on the nature of the business and whether the company complements The Fund’s existing portfolio of equity holdings. The key criteria for the investment committee, when looking at new investments, is to assess the company’s ability to become the best in their field, have a sustainable economic model and that the current owners and management demonstrate a deep passion for the products and services they provide.
